How else could she personally deal with the whale issue?
Oh, wait. They're not talking about a *real* whale, which might require her to be in a bikini, but rather a high spending gambler. So why send Sam? Why not security? Oh, that's right - none of them look good in a bikini...
Posted by Tor at October 19, 2006 05:56 PMI am a shameless fan of the following: the FOX football crew, MGD, and Las Vegas. Las Vegas is Love Boats for the aughts. Guest stars. Dama. Comic relief. Romance. Token minority charachter. It has it all. And here I thought I was the only one. God bless Al Gore for inventing the internets and uniting Las Vegas fans throughout the blognation.
Posted by mike n at October 19, 2006 10:33 PMDon't forget "Egregious, shameless shots of scantily-clad hot chicks (and occasionally dudes) at every opportunity." Though I don't remember too much of that on the Love Boat.
Posted by Carl at October 19, 2006 10:48 PMYou forget the scenes around the ship's pool... Bathing suits were bigger though...
Posted by Tor at October 20, 2006 09:13 AMAnd Julie was most definitely NOT played by Molly Sims.
Posted by Carl at October 20, 2006 11:04 AMThe Love Boat may very well have had scantily clad women, but I was too young for that to be on my radar. I'm sure if there were bikini clad models by the pool, it was pretty tame stuff. Baywatch changed everything.
So maybe Las Vegas takes the best of the 70s guilty pleasure TV (Love Boat) and the 90s (Baywatch). Somehow the show has probably worked in the best of the 80s, but what show would that be? Dynasty? LV certainly has its share of relationship drama.
